LA1.7 Business and Science Park Sites - Site Omission
If you have selected a ‘Site omission’ please enter the site reference or location and relevant policy below
Ulverston - additional land adjacent to proposed allocation M11M-mod (land immediately to the east of site M11M - mod.) omitted.
Proposed Policy LA1.7
Representor supports a larger extended site M11M - mod but for mixed use as suggested in Rawdon Property's representation.
2.1 Do you consider that the South Lakeland District Council Land Allocations DPD is sound?
No
2.2 If NO please identify which test of soundness your representation relates to by selecting the relevant option(s) below and completing section 2.3.
The DPD is not justified in that it is not founded on a robust and credible evidence base and/or is not considered the most appropriate strategy when considered against the reasonable alternatives.
The DPD is not effective in that the document is not deliverable, flexible or capable of being monitored.
2.3 Please give details of the change(s) you consider necessary to make the South Lakeland District Council Land Allocations DPD sound, having regard to the test you have identified at question 2.2 above.
It would be helpful if you could state your proposed change to the DPD and the reasons why you think it is necessary.
These representations are made in respect of land located at Lightburn Road, Ulverston. The land is identified as Plot 2 on the attached site ownership plan and lies immediately to the east of the draft DPD allocation M11M-mod identified for a business/science park development.
Furthermore I can confirm that I own all of the land within Plot 2 and that it is available for development. I understand Rawdon Property have submitted representations to the Council in relation to draft allocation M11M-mod and that these representations identify Plot 2 for potential employment development as part of a larger mixed use development
I can confirm the land in plot 2 is available for development as stated by Rawdon Property and I support the representations which have been submitted by their planning consultants.

I would like to express my support for the proposed development allocation M11M-mod.
I support Rawdon's representations which conclude that the Plan is not currently sound and that that allocation M11M-mod should be expanded to include the land identified in Plot 2. The changes suggested by Rawdon Property are required to make the plan sound.
