Please explain your reasons
We do not agree that there is a need for as many as 47 new homes in Cartmel. If a restriction was put on the number of second homes and holiday homes there would be enough housing available for local needs. It is the large number of second and holiday homes that has caused the price of houses to increse so that they have become unaffordable to local people. A couple who lived in a house they owned in Burnley and had a caravan in Flookburgh for the last 15 years have just been given the tenancy of a council bungalow at Headless Close in Cartmel, If people were not allowed to abuse the system like this the local social housing would be sufficient for local needs.

We object to the proposed site for the following reasons:-
Haggs lane is too narrow to cope with the increase in traffic that new homes here would produce.
There is no footpath on Haggs Lane which would make it dangerous for pedestrians to walk to anf from local shops etc.
Building social housing here woul widen the gap between the haves and have nots and make this a ghotto area in Cartmel as there are already council houses adjoining the proposed site. It would be more in keeping with the village if small groups of less than 10 houses were built in some of the other suggested sites ie. RN690, RN 691, RN6 and RN172.
What looks like a proposed access road ON17 and the area behind it RN173 are next to my house or possibly IN my garden. Any road built so close would devalue my house and destroy my peace, privacy and security.
There would be air and noise pollution which again would have a detrimental effect on the value of my house.
Notes on the map that has been provided
Do you think that your area needs new or improved community facilities? If so, what sort of facilities and where? Please explain the types of improved and/or new community facilities your community may need in the next 15 years
I do not think we need any new community facilities.
