These representations have been made by PFK Planning on behalf of Messrs Pennington (Kendal) Ltd, the owners of Kendal Fell Quarry and the adjacent private access road on to the A591(not A595 as referred to in para 3.38), Kendal By Pass.
We believe that the Kendal Fell Quarry site offers considerable scope to provide space for additional employment development without causing any visual harm or causing additional traffic congestion in Kendal. It could also help unlock stalled developments elsewhere in the town by providing space to relocate exisiting uses. Its development could also mean a reduction in the need to allocate other, more sensitive, land around the town for such purposes.

We believe that the use of this site for employment purposes will have major benefits for the town as outlined above. We therefore consider that it should be discussed at the examination, along with representatives of the Lake District National Park Authority to ensure that the benefits of developing the site are reflected in the Development Plans of both Authorities.
