LA1.1 Development Boundaries- CARTMEL
1.1 Do you consider that the South Lakeland District Council Land Allocations DPD is legally compliant?
Yes
2.1 Do you consider that the South Lakeland District Council Land Allocations DPD is sound?
No
2.2 If NO please identify which test of soundness your representation relates to by selecting the relevant option(s) below and completing section 2.3.
The DPD is not justified in that it is not founded on a robust and credible evidence base and/or is not considered the most appropriate strategy when considered against the reasonable alternatives.
2.3 Please give details of the change(s) you consider necessary to make the South Lakeland District Council Land Allocations DPD sound, having regard to the test you have identified at question 2.2 above. It would be helpful if you could state your proposed change to the DPD and the reasons why you think it is necessary.
Allithwaite Road - RN 148 & RN 171

At the request of the Parish Council, SLDC enlarged the Village Development Boundary to include the Headless Cross area. The Council considers the revised boundary should not have included RN 148 & RN 171 as these areas constitute ribbon development and were probably a drafting error. Infill area RN 147 was also put forward, RN 156 was also considered, RN156M was seriously considered but none of these areas were included inside the village boundary when the revised proposals were drawn up by SLDC. In the light of this we consider it is illogical and undesirable to keep RN 148 & RN 171 inside the revised boundary and request they are removed.
3.1 If your representation is seeking a change, do you consider it necessary to participate in the oral part of the examination?
NO, I do not wish to participate at the oral examination

It would be helpful if you could state your proposed change to the DPD and the reasons why you think it is necessary.
The Parish Council favoured RN230# when it was put forward, all be it at a late stage in the process, because it fits in with the proposed Parish Plan objective of creating a safe pedestrian access from Holme Lane to the Church Road area of the village. It is the view of the Parish Council that this site is preferable to some other sites proposed.
3.1 If your representation is seeking a change, do you consider it necessary to participate in the oral part of the examination?
