Policy/Site No.
LA1.3 Housing Allocations - RN337# ARNSIDE STATION RD
1.1 Do you consider that the South Lakeland District Council Land Allocations DPD is legally compliant?
Yes
2.1 Do you consider that the South Lakeland District Council Land Allocations DPD is sound?
No
2.2 If NO please identify which test of soundness your representation relates to by selecting the relevant option(s) below and completing section 2.3.
The DPD is not justified in that it is not founded on a robust and credible evidence base and/or is not considered the most appropriate strategy when considered against the reasonable alternatives.
2.3 Please give details of the change(s) you consider necessary to make the South Lakeland District Council Land Allocations DPD sound, having regard to the test you have identified at question 2.2 above. It would be helpful if you could state your proposed change to the DPD and the reasons why you think it is necessary.
Objections from all residents at Ashleigh Court sould be taken into consideration as per previous consultation response 15/4/11. Details as follows:
1. Flooding in allocated development area
2. Restricted access due to entry from main road only (Ashleigh Road is privately owned) This will mean less parking in an already very busy road & spaces will be reduced due to access into new development.
3. Lack of light for flats on Station Field side of Ashleigh Court, particularly g/floor level
4. Noise level for our flats will increase - we are a retirement development

Objections for the proposed building on Station Field:
1. Loss of privacy for residents at Ashleigh Court
2. Intense flooding of Station Field
3. Over intensive development of a green field site
4. Archaeological Site of Salt Pans
5. Restricted access due to entry from main road. Road behind, Ashleigh Road, is a private road only.
6. Noise level from the new houses would inconvenience the residents as we are a retirement development.
7. Light restriction particularly for the ground floor flats.
3.1 If your representation is seeking a change, do you consider it necessary to participate in the oral part of the examination?
NO, I do not wish to participate at the oral examination
