Ease of access: it is not possible to build houses on this site. Allithwaite Road has a very large volume of traffic and there are problems with speeding. The only 2 possible access points to the site would be:
1) Leading from Allithwaite Road at the brow of a hill which has a blind bend
2) Via Carter Road which is a narrow road with no footpath on the left
Either access would seriously increase danger to pedestrians and road traffic. Planning permission has already been refused twice on this site because of access
2.1 Do you consider that the South Lakeland District Council Land Allocations DPD is sound?
No
2.2 If NO please identify which test of soundness your representation relates to by selecting the relevant option(s) below and completing section 2.3.
The DPD is not consistent with national policy.

The green infrastructure policy is to protect the network of green gaps. To build on this site would cause risk to coalescence of 2 settlements i.e. Grange and Kents Bank. The land is predominantly open and maintains an open aspect and helps to maintain the settlements i.e. setting and character. In 2006 the land was deallocated for housing on the Local Plan and is now designated as an open space.
3.1 If your representation is seeking a change, do you consider it necessary to participate in the oral part of the examination?
