Yes
1.4 Use this space to explain your support for the South Lakeland District Council Land Allocations DPD.
Helsington Community Land Trust believe that the council have consulted and involved the Parish over and above the normal requirements. This has led to strong debate in the Parish and continued growing support for local solutions to local issues. HCLT is commited to look not only for affordable housing but also for community aspirations and other aims and continued public participation with the Parish Council and the wider Parish.A vast number of sites were reviewed in the consultation process and HCLT believe that it has been fair and complient.
2.1 Do you consider that the South Lakeland District Council Land Allocations DPD is sound?
Yes
2.4 Use this space to explain your support for the South Lakeland District Council Land Allocations DPD.
Helsington Community Land Trust supports the allocation of site RN213 for a cross subsidy of three freehold to develop four affordable in order to maximise the community gain and control over potential development of the site and to start to readdress the acute shortage of affordable housing within the Parish. The Trust now represents 74 shareholders and is growing with additional widespread support in the Parish as a delivery mechanism for affordable homes. The aims and aspirations are to work with all sections of the local community to address other needs under local initiatives and develop the site through community participation. The Trust along with the Parish Council in 2011 supported the allocation of this site and the policy allocation in Brigsteer and is pleased at the level of support given in a show of hands at a recent Parish meeting, 20 (elect) to develop the site now, 17 (elect) to develop the site in 2015, and 31 opposed.
