This is a large open green space in centre of village - contributing to its rural feel. Previous planning application rejected on grounds of loss of amenity ; the same applies now.
Too close to dangerous offset cross roads at Four Lane ends. An increase in traffic here undesirable.
You would need to cross the busy A595 to reach shop, post office and school, community centre and playground.
Do you think that your area needs new or improved community facilities? If so, what sort of facilities and where?
Please explain the types of improved and/or new community facilities your community may need in the next 15 years
New village hall on Community Field.

This field is 2m higher that Askew Gate Brow which would be needed for access. Vehicles would be descending a slope and visibility poor.
There are no pavements on Askew Gate Brow and the road is already too narrow and dangerous for EXISTING number of vehicles.
Connection to the sewer would overload the Sandside system which is already under pressure.
It would be detrimental to the environment of the existing comminity - a block of housing here would make a rural environment feel urban.
It is on the 'wrong' side of the busy A595 for village school, shop, playground, village hall.
Power lines across the field would need to be rerouted.
The watwer supply is already poor. more housing would increase problem.

This is too big an area. A development on this scale would overwhelm the village, giving a rural settlement an urbam feel.
There is no demonstrable need for a LARGE number of houses in the village. There are plenty for sale or rent at ptesent.
Development wi=ould put pressure on an already overloaded seweage system at Sandside.
Development on 'wrong' side of busy and dangerous A595 for all village amenities.

This is too big an area. There is no need for a housing development this size in the village. A Large pylon line runs through the field. Research suggests living in proximity to these is detrimental to health. The site is a hill. An estate here would visually dominate the village to the detriment of existing residents.
access would be VERY difficult - onto the narrow Beckside road, or through already congested Burlington Close.

New Community Hall on Community Field. Present one much too small.

This is a valuable agricultural field - the most productive silage field on Kirkby Hall Farm. Without it the dairy farm here would not be viable.
Sewage would be a problem. Routing this downhill to Marshside would exacerbate an already big problem with overloaded sewers.
A pylon line runs through the field - undesirable to live close to pylon line on health grounds.
