The scale of the current proposal is too great for the location. 70 houses here would significantly increase the size of the village, which currently does not have the infrastructure to deal with this, in terms of the sewage system, public transport, shops or the school. I also have concerns over potential impact on the River Kent SAC from pollution during times of high rainfall, in an area that will be at risk of flooding.
I also believe that the potential traffic generated by 70 new houses would have a detrimental impact on the current residents of Hall Park, as all traffic will have to go through the estate.I do not think that any development here should exceed the current needs of the village. If there is extra capacity, then this should be used to create open space for the residents of the village and to protect the River Kent SAC and the setting of Burneside Hall.In general no development should be taking place anywhere in Burneside before the sewage system capacity is significantly upgraded.
Do you think that your area needs new or improved community facilities? If so, what sort of facilities and where?
Please explain the types of improved and/or new community facilities your community may need in the next 15 years
Although there are a good range of sports facilities in our village, there is no general open space for children to play or the community to enjoy. It would be beneficial to find an area for this, associated with current sports facilities.Allotments would also be beneficial in Burneside, given the size of the village.A footpath should also be created along Hollins Lane from where it runs out, past the level crossing to the cricket and football pitches.Burneside would benefit from these improvements without new housiung being built however.

I believe the scale of the proposed development is too great for this location and will have impact on the local landscape as well as infrastructure such as the seawge system and the local road network, particularly town centre traffic. I an also very concerned about the reduction in the Green Gap between Kendal and Burneside and I believe that this should be conserved. I also have concerns over potential impacts on the River Kent SAC, especially as there is at least one other site also being put forward in Burneside, which could also impact on the SAC .

I do not think that this is an appropriate location for affordable housing given that Bowston has little or no public transport, or other faclitlies such as a shop. Residents woul dhave to own a car and this would then lead to an increase in local traffic. I also have concerns over the impact that more development in this area will have on the sewage system of Burneside, particularly during periods of high rainfall.
