These views are both from a personal point and a community point of view.
After speaking with my neighbours, they share the same views.

we live on canal street where our properties are situated below the site r271 which is in use as allotments. As there is a demand for an allotment with a lengthy waiting list, so people can grow there own produce it would be a shame to lose such a site.
myself and neighbours currently rent allotments on this plot and have done for the past 20 years and it also doubles up for us a safe area for our young children to play with safe view of our home away from roads.

- this site lies approx 20 foot above our property with an unstable supporting wall. ground level of the site looks staight into the bedrooms of our properties.
- many other neighbours of canal st would love to rent one of these allotments.

from an environmental view.

- the sewage and surface water disposal from this site is worrying.
our properties lies on the lowest part of canal street overlooking the canal. when is rains heavy at present the drains on the main road flow back out outside our properties as a result of the water running down from sunderland terrace and the the main road. to add property 20 foot above this area behind us leaves my very nervous our properties will become liable to flooding.
development in front of us i'm all for as we have the rear of our property which is the only good point to living here with the a590 being 4 foot from the front of this row of properties.
- As from a marketing point of view to have the main road on the front of the property and if houses overlooked us from the rear of the property, it would leave our home unappealing to any potential purchaser thus devaluing them.
