Please explain your reasons
1. I strongly object to any further development in Arnside, there is sufficient housing, etc for all our residents.
2. Redhills Road R81 on map, is a beautiful part of the village, and housing or building work will spoil the beautiful view and wildlife that this area attracts. Our house backs onto this field and we enjoy an enviable outlook, Birds, butterflies and many unusual species of wildlife visit this site throughout the year.
3. How on earth the roads will cope with extra traffic at the end of Redhills road I do not know.I myself have had a couple of close encounters with other vehicles.
4. I would like to suggest brown infill sites are used firstly for extra housing. It has been suggested that housebuilders will only take the contract on to build new homes in large numbers, surely some of our local building companies will build in small numbers. This would give work to people in our village.
5. Regarding parking in Arnside. There is not enough, everyone is in agreement with that. May I suggest the empty car showroom near the station as an ideal site.
6.There are numerous empty properties in Arnside at the moment. There are also numerous holiday homes used just a few times a year. Maybe the council could buy up some of this stock and rent out or sell on as affordable homes. This is by far a cheaper option.
7. There is a lot of unrest in our village at the moment caused by this housing problem which could all be solved quickly and effectively if the council found about twelve properties currently on the market to meet their housing needs.
8. I understand from a long residing villager that a similar problem occurred in Arnside some years ago, hence the building of many properties off Silverdale Road- Stewart Close etc. Apparently there were not enough takers at the end of the day , so the builder was allowed to sell them to anyone.
