Please explain your reasons
The site breaches the Council's own guidelines on developing outside natural boundaries, and I understand has been turned down for this reason in the past. Once the boundary at Scroggs is breached there is nothing to stop further development to Prizet and beyond. The proposed development will be in full view from both the Helm and the main approach roads to Kendal and the Lakes, effectively industrialising the Gateway to the Lake District. Whilst there is talk of significant structural landscaping being needed along the southern and eastern edges of the site, in sympathy with the landscape, this then mentions the views from the A6 and A591, which are to the West of the site. Any talk of shielding the site from view from the A591, particularly, is fanciful to say the very least because of the road's elevation above the site.
It would be a huge blow if the memorable entrance to Kendal for many of its visitors was lost forever for the financial benefit of a few, and perhaps merely to resite existing Kendal jobs.
