Please explain your reasons
This land is currently only accessed through Castle Green Close - this is a very narrow residential road and any increase in traffic would pose a very serious health and safety hazard to residents, particularly young children who reside here. This is demonstrated when friends and family visit because they have to park on the road and there is already very limited space to do this. When this cul-de-sac was built it certainly was not designed to carry the volume of traffic that a new housing development would bring to the area, for indeed this is one of the reasons we recently purchased our house here. This land also currently houses several allotments and as allotment land is in short supply in Kendal it would be unjust to lose it. A housing development will reduce our already limited open green space and I fear that this would have a negative impact on the quality of life of all the residents and the local area.
