Extending into green belt land beyond the natural tree lined Kendal boundary of Scroggs Lane will result in the loss of the attractive southern approach into Kendal& would turn it into an industrial town compared to Wndermere. Also, loss of farm land which could be further developed for equistrian events. The land also has protected wild life specifically native crayfish in river & tributary streams, also rare birds.
It is unlikely the infra structure eg dainage & sewerage system could cope with greater volume. There has beeen successful industrial developments to the north of Kendal and there is potential to develop areas near Summerlands and Gatebeck. There would be a potential increase in level of noise to local residents, and loss of a well used and pleasant walking/jogging area.
There would be a negative impact on house prices in the locality.
Do you think that your area needs new or improved community facilities? If so, what sort of facilities and where?
Please explain the types of improved and/or new community facilities your community may need in the next 15 years
Free parking in Kendal will attract people into Kendal to shop & spend leisure time.Abandoning the re- development of New Road carpark. Who wants to sit next to 3 lanes of traffic?? Why not improve Gooseholme? If locals want to continue to use the common land for the only free car parking in Kendal, then it should be kept

Building houses on this site will totally ruin the beautiful approach into Kendal. It will increase the traffic flow to unacceptable levels, and the current struggling drainage & sewerage system will not cope.Low cost housing will have a negative impact on house prices in the locality.
