Inappropriate development - ruin of tourist 'feel' of Kendal by yet more housing and business units

Please explain your reasons
I have been a regular (tourist) visitor to Kendal over the past 20 years. I accessed the SL website to find information about Kendal library and came across the "Allocations" plans on the home page. Over the past 20 year Kendal has grown enormously and now takes in many of the green spaces that used to intertwine its built-up areas. It is perhaps less obvious to residents but for visitors Kendal has developed an 'urban sprawl'. It's a shame to see a lovely Lakeland town being submerged in more and more housing. Does the council ever think where this process will stop? The attractiveness of Kendal as the 'gateway to the lakes' is fast disappearing as the surrounding hills become covered in ugly housing and small business units. This is best left to cities and urban areas, e.g Lancaster, Preston, Bolton etc It's particularly distressing to see the green slopes surrounding Kendal (the 'green gaps'?) removed. It would be surely preferable to spread some of this development into the surrouding villages and settlements which in effect have no apparent 'allocations' at all. Kendal is in danger of killing its own tourist appeal.
The road traffic at any time is busy in Kendal. At peak times it is now very bad - how can the present road system support the proposed major expansions?
Do you think that your area needs new or improved community facilities? If so, what sort of facilities and where?
Please explain the types of improved and/or new community facilities your community may need in the next 15 years
