Please explain your reasons
1. These houses would be built on part of an area of land designated by the council as an area of Important Open Space. I quote the consultation Document 2.44 "There is a presumption that these spaces will not be developed except in very exceptional circumstances". This open space including its footpath is a valuable asset in S.E. Kendal where there is already extensive housing development and very little green space.
2. The density of building is proposed to be much higher than the average generally proposed which suggests an unexceptable impact on surrounding properties and also an overcrowded living space for new residents. (It would have been helpful to have had some indication of the type of properties proposed). High density development would be out of character with the existing built environment.
3. Access is proposed through 3 cul de sacs off Valley Drive without consideration of the narrowness of these roads. (At least one of them is only 5 m. wide and with narrow footpaths, barely enough space for two cars to pass safely in these days of ever wider vehicles).
4. Access onto Valley Drive would put even more pressure onto an already busy thoroughfare. At morning rush hour traffic already backs up several hundred yards along Valley Drive whilst trying to get out into Parkside Road.
5. The proposed biulding land and the surrounding area is a heavy boulder clay already prone to waterlogging and flooding. Further building would only make the problem worse.
