Please explain your reasons
I oppose the development in this area for the following reasons
1. No suitable access from the development onto the A595. Any traffic would have to use Askew Gate Brow which in parts is only 4 metres wide and already provides insufficient room for two vehicles to pass.
2. There is no pedestrian footway along Askew Gate, there would therefore be increased conflict between vehicular and pedestrian traffic with likely increased risk of injury.
3. The existing junction from Askew Gate Brow onto the A595 is totally unsuitable for increased traffic volumes due to the restricted views. There is no opportunity to alter the road layout adequately.
4. There have been 5 road traffic collisions at this junction location in the last 5 years, this would inevitably increase with increased traffic volume.
5. Access to local amenities ie school, play ground, shop & Post Office would be dependant on crossing the A595.
6. Any development of the size proposed would alter the character of the village centre.
Notes on the map that has been provided
The area designated as RN11 adjacent to Burlington School would appear far more suitable as it does not have any of the problems identified above.
