Please explain your reasons
There are two main reasons why I oppose site R697M to be used for development that I would like to draw your attention to.
The site will be over an aqueduct which has specific instructions that land 10.5m either side of the aqueduct cannot be built on. R697M is also classed as 'green land' something which I was assured during a consultation will not be allocated to build on.
I appreciate that I was informed that the land would not just be used for housing but other local amenities. The Croftland estate is already a densely populated area with local amenities, suitable playing fields and schools already provided for. I therefore do not see the point in razing down beautiful green space to build things we already have. The area in question has already been refused planning permission in the past, a reasonable response I feel, probably due to the natural beauty the area has to offer. There are plenty of wasteland spaces in Ulverston that would benefit from new development plans so concentrate on them and leave the green areas alone. The area in question is also home to a wide variety of birdlife who rely on the area to live. Not only would you be upsetting many residents in approving this beautiful land for needless expansion but also destroying the homes of the Lakeland wildlife. This consultation period was for the opportunity of the residents of South Lakeland to voice their opinion on land allocation. If you are taking our views seriously then I think it's obvious that many residents of Ulverston do not want the council to destroy many areas of outstanding beauty for new developments that are not necessarily needed.
Do you think that your area needs new or improved community facilities? If so, what sort of facilities and where?
Please explain the types of improved and/or new community facilities your community may need in the next 15 years
No.
