The proposed build of 120 houses will increase traffic volume on the A590 by approx. 200 vehicles which will inevitably increase pressure on an already busy junction.
There has been significant subsidence along the proposed site for the new build due to the number of mines which can be evidenced through support structures and subsidence in the local area.
The sewerage system is already under pressure.Sewerage from High Carley to Urswick Road is pumped twice a week.
Do you think that your area needs new or improved community facilities? If so, what sort of facilities and where?
Please explain the types of improved and/or new community facilities your community may need in the next 15 years
Residential Care Home due to aging community.

Access around the Rufus Lane area, leading onto Kingsley Avenue, is already difficult due to the number of cars parked by existing residents. Access for the emergency services must be considered in an area which is already heavily used by residents.
The proposed build of 35 houses will increase traffic volume of traffic on the A590 by approx. 50 vehicles and will inevitably increase pressure on an already busy junction.
Kingsley Avenue was built only so far along due to the fall and drainage of the land.

This site is the most suitable for Swarthmoor and would provide a similar number of houses as the proposed site RN109M but without any of the access problems with the A590.
The existing properties on Park Road already have restricted views due to a high wall so the development would not impact on this to any great extent. There is also a steep bank to the south east which would sheild the view from the Urswick Road properties.
This site would also mean that the residents would have access to the amenities of the village without having to cross the busy A590 and as far as the children go they will be able to access the school at Croftlands without affecting the junctions on the A590.

This site whilst expanding the village would mean that the village is divided by the A590. All the existing amenities are on the other side of the A590 and so this would create serious problems for people trying to access these amenities without resorting to the use of cars thus adding to the existing traffic problems with the A590.
