Within the eastern edge of the above site lies a traditional english orchard, an important hotspot for biodiversity supporting hundreds of species including various small mamals as well as invertebrates, birds and plants.IT forms foraging range of the specially protected horseshoe bat (two species of bat regularly seen). The importance of these areas led the government in recent years to designate traditional orchards as a national prority habitat for conservation. It is also situated on a limstone pavement.
Wildlife regularly seen here include: Roe Deer, fox, badgers, slow worms and rare marsh tits, along with above mentioned bats.
