Please explain your reasons
Road access to West Kendal is not good, with the only roads allowing exit that are not single track at some point being Vicarage Drive, Glebe Road, Gillingate, Allhallows Lane, Queens Road and Underbarrow Road. Both Vicarage Drive and Glebe Road normally involve a right hand turn across the busy A6 to head South (the normal direction from these roads, including going to ASDA). Gillingate and Allhallows Lane both lead into the one way system including Lowther Street with its air quality problems, Queens Road often has traffic queuing to turn right across Windermere Road to head to Morrisons and North Kendal, while Underbarrow Road leads into the Lake District National Park through Underbarrow and Crosthwaite. Given that there is already significant traffic queuing at busy times on all but Underbarrow Road, adding more housing without improving the areas access will simply increase the Kendal Town Centre traffic and reduce its air quality which is against the stated aims of the consultation documents, and thus cannot be a suitable or satisfactory solution to Kendal's housing needs.
