Support in part
Please explain your reasons
We feel the number of dwellings for this proposed site of 32 is too high and would be out of character with the surrounding houses, which are individual in character and have good sized gardens. In addition, we have some anxieties about the drainage from the Helm during excessive rainfall as this site is usually waterlogged at all times of the year. Also this number of dwellings on RN223 together with the proposed 81 dwellings on R108 on the opposite side of the A65 will create a lot of traffic onto the already busy A65.
Low cost housing is proposed for this site in Oxenholme but we feel this site is too far from Kendal for shops, services and employment. It is 1.7 miles to Kirkbie Kendal School and nearly 3 miles to Kendal Bus Station. People will not walk these distances so will create more vehicles on the roads, whereas if low cost housing was built closer into or within Kendal people are more likely to walk to work, shops and schools.
If housing is to go ahead on this site there should be far fewer in number and fit in with the surroundings of rural housing.
Do you think that your area needs new or improved community facilities? If so, what sort of facilities and where? Please explain the types of improved and/or new community facilities your community may need in the next 15 years

Dwellings on this site will have an impact on views from the Helm.
