Part of the land floods each winter and would not be suitable for housing. Also it is suggested that the site is used as high density housing. It is alongside a row of 8 high density affordable houses and I feel that no more high density housing should be added in this location. It is however suitable for 3 or 4 small affordable bungalows for the elderly. This might free up family houses elsewhere in the village.
All housing built should be Carbon Neutral. In addition all houses should have off road parking by the house. The present affordable housing on Briery Bank has a designated car park at one end that is rarely used as the cars park on the road by the front gates and constitute a traffic hazard.
Do you think that your area needs new or improved community facilities? If so, what sort of facilities and where?
Please explain the types of improved and/or new community facilities your community may need in the next 15 years
Off road car parking for the station is urgently needed as is easy disabled access for the line to Lancaster. The present library is not easy to get to as it is on a very steep passageway. We must keep our public toilets on the promenade. They should be upgraded if necessary. Apart from Silverdale Road, the main bus route round Arnside is a disgrace with very deep potholes throughout. It should be repaired properly not just patched up.

The south eastern corner of the site was allocated for affordable housing some years ago. I can not understand why the houses have not yet been built. There is a need for such housing and the site seems suitable. The northwestern part of the site has a very large garage/workshop built on it so I assume that that is not available.
