Please explain your reasons
We are opposed to the proposed development of the site off Church Bank and Vicarage Lane for a number of reasons:
It is documented fact the Holme village has been over developed, lessons should be learnt from this and the same mistake should be avoided in Burton. There is adequate affordable housing available now within the vicinity. Any new affordable housing will only remain affordable until the first residents wish to sell at a profit!
Access from the proposed site would be inadequate and has previously been highlighted as such;access onto the A6070 is in a dangerous place and would constitute a further road hazard.
Why destroy green field sites when, within a reasonable radius of the village, there are brown field sites which could be redeveloped?
Villages are losing their identity due to overdevelopment and we should protect Burton from the same fate as other over developed villages.
