Please explain your reasons
We object to the inclusion of plot RN34 (land at Grange Fell Road) in the proposals for residential development.
We are particularly concerned about:
1 This site appears to be ‘ribbon’ development, thereby extending the boundary of the built up area, rather than ‘infill’, a criteria many other sites fulfil.
2 The effect of storm water run off from a developed site. This might exacerbate flooding in surrounding areas.Past heavy rain has shown this to be a significant concern.
3 The site forms an attractive green 'gateway' into and out of Grange and has significant aesthetic benefit to both visitors and local residents, many of whom have small gardens. It is also an important area for wildlife.
4 Traffic in the area would certainly increase and add to the problems of navigating Grange Fell Road which is not the easiest even at present levels.
We believe you have identified more realistic development sites in Grange that would meet the targets you have set.
Therefore we ask that you reconsider this site and exclude it from your final proposals.
Yours faithfully.
